Battle Rock Park is named for the historic battle that took place at Battle Rock where the Qua-to-mah Native Americans fought Capt. William Tichenor's men in 1851. The oldest platted town site on the Oregon coast, the most westerly city in the continental U.S., and the northern gateway to the America’s Wild Rivers Coast, Port Orford honors its rich history.
